JSON to Table Converter

Explore JSON records in a clear data table.

Convert JSON to a table

Nested object keys use double underscores.

How to convert JSON to a table

Paste an array of records and create the table. Filter rows by one or more column values, choose which columns to display, resize them, and download the current result as an SVG image or CSV.

Supported JSON shapes

Arrays of objects produce the clearest tables. The converter can also locate a record array inside a wrapper object and flatten nested objects with double-underscore headers.

Filter and customize the table

Use Filters to select exact values from any column. Multiple values in one column are combined with OR, while filters on different columns are combined with AND. Hidden columns can remain active as filters. These choices do not change your original JSON.

Download the table as an image

Choose Landscape for wide presentation-style sheets or Portrait for vertical sheets. The SVG uses your custom column names, keeps readable row and text sizes, repeats the header, and divides longer tables across stacked pages.

Export selected JSON fields as CSV

Download CSV exports the visible fields with their customized column names. When some fields are hidden, you can also download all columns without changing the current view.

Frequently asked questions

Can the table display nested JSON?

Yes. Nested object keys are flattened with double-underscore headers.

Can I download the table?

Yes. Download the visible columns or the complete converted table as CSV.

Can I save the table as an image?

Yes. Export the visible table as a paginated landscape or portrait SVG image.

Can I hide or resize table columns?

Yes. Choose the visible fields and resize individual columns without changing the original JSON.

Can I rename table columns?

Yes. Select a column name and enter a custom header for the preview, SVG, and CSV downloads.

Can I filter rows by column values?

Yes. Select one or more exact values from any column. Filters also apply to CSV and SVG downloads.

How the tool works

Paste an array of records and create a responsive table. Filter rows by exact values in any column, then hide, rename, or resize fields without altering the source JSON. Multiple values in one column use OR, while different columns use AND. Export the filtered view as CSV or a paginated SVG image.

Supported input and output

Arrays of objects are the most natural input. A wrapper object containing a record array can also be detected. Nested keys use double-underscore column names, while missing values remain empty so rows keep a consistent shape.

Practical example

A product response with nested supplier details can become a table with product, price, supplier__name, and supplier__country columns. Hide internal identifiers, rename headers for a presentation, and export only what the audience needs.

Common use cases

This is useful for exploring an API response, preparing a compact report, selecting JSON fields for CSV, and sharing a readable snapshot without a spreadsheet. SVG output stays sharp in documentation and presentations.

Limits and important checks

A flat table cannot preserve every relationship in deeply nested JSON. Arrays inside records may need serialization, and very wide datasets require horizontal scrolling. Use the JSON viewer when the hierarchy itself is more important than rows and columns.

Privacy and local processing

Unless the tool explicitly identifies an external lookup, input and generated output are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to CosmoTools. Avoid placing secrets in any web page and review downloaded results before using them in production.
