The history of Lorem Ipsum
Lorem Ipsum is not random Latin. Its familiar fragments are adapted from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum, a philosophical work by Cicero written in 45 BC.
Printers later scrambled and altered the source so it would work as neutral-looking sample text. The result became a standard stand-in for content in print, then in desktop publishing and digital product design.
When to use placeholder text
