CSV Viewer

Open, customize, and export CSV tables in your browser.

View CSV as a table

Quoted commas, escaped quotes, and multiline fields are supported.

How to view CSV online

Paste CSV or load the example, then create a scrollable table. The first row becomes the header. Filter rows by exact column values, select visible columns, and download the resulting view as CSV or SVG.

Inspect data safely

The CSV remains in your browser. Empty and duplicate headers receive stable names so every column remains visible.

Filter and customize CSV data

Open Filters to search and select values from any column. Multiple values in one column use OR; different columns use AND. You can then hide fields, rename headers, or resize columns without modifying the original CSV.

Download the table as an image

Export the visible table as a sharp SVG in Landscape or Portrait orientation. Custom names appear in every repeated header, and longer tables are divided into stacked sheets with readable fixed-scale rows.

Download normalized CSV

Download CSV creates a normalized CSV using the visible, customized column names. If columns are hidden, a separate option exports the complete table with every renamed column.

Frequently asked questions

Does the viewer upload my CSV?

No. CSV parsing and table rendering happen locally in your browser.

Does it support quoted fields?

Yes. Quoted commas, escaped quotes, and line breaks are supported.

Can I download selected columns?

Yes. Download the visible columns as CSV, or export the complete table with all columns.

Can I download the table as an image?

Yes. Export the visible table as a paginated landscape or portrait SVG image.

Can I rename CSV columns?

Yes. Custom headers appear in the table preview and in SVG and CSV downloads.

Can I filter CSV rows by their values?

Yes. Select one or more exact values from any column and export only the matching rows.

How the tool works

Paste CSV and render it as a scrollable table. Filter rows by exact column values, select visible fields, rename headers, adjust widths, and export the filtered view as normalized CSV or paginated SVG. The original text is not modified.

Supported input and output

The parser handles comma-separated fields, quoted commas, escaped quotes, line breaks inside quoted fields, and Windows or Unix line endings. The first row supplies headers; empty or duplicate names receive stable replacements so no column disappears.

Practical example

Open a wide product export, hide audit fields, rename technical headers, and resize the remaining columns for a report. Download only the visible columns or retain the complete normalized table in a separate CSV export.

Common use cases

An online CSV viewer is convenient when Excel is unavailable, when you need a quick safe preview, or when a dataset must be turned into a presentation-ready image. Everything is parsed and rendered in the browser.

Limits and important checks

The viewer currently targets comma-delimited text and does not replace a full spreadsheet application. Very large files may use substantial browser memory, formulas are treated as text, and inferred data types are not applied automatically.

Privacy and local processing

Unless the tool explicitly identifies an external lookup, input and generated output are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to CosmoTools. Avoid placing secrets in any web page and review downloaded results before using them in production.
