How the tool works

Choose a PNG, JPG, or WebP image, or explicitly enable the camera and point it at a QR Code. The browser decodes the pixels locally, identifies the content type, and presents an appropriate action.

Supported input and output

The image reader accepts files up to 15 MB. Results are classified as HTTP/HTTPS URL, Wi-Fi configuration, structurally valid Pix, or plain text. Camera support requires HTTPS or a local secure context and browser permission.

Practical example

Upload a screenshot containing a Pix QR Code, inspect the decoded payload, and send it to the Pix Decoder without placing financial content in the page URL.

Common use cases

Read QR Codes received in screenshots, documents, saved photos, printed material, invoices, menus, event passes, network cards, and payment requests.

Limits and important checks

Blur, glare, low contrast, cropping, very small codes, or unsupported camera access can prevent decoding. Preview links and sensitive content before acting, and never assume a readable QR Code is trustworthy.

Privacy and local processing

Unless the tool explicitly identifies an external lookup, input and generated output are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to CosmoTools. Avoid placing secrets in any web page and review downloaded results before using them in production.

Frequently asked questions

Are uploaded images sent to a server?

No. Images are decoded locally in your browser and are not uploaded to CosmoTools.

When is the camera activated?

Only after you select Use camera and grant browser permission. It stops after a result, when the page is hidden, or when you leave.

Which content types are identified?

The reader identifies HTTP/HTTPS links, Wi-Fi settings, valid Pix payloads, and plain text.
